Socio-economic and financial assessment

Objectives

Action C2 aims to assess the project’s socio-economical impact. If the result of this action is, as expected, positive, it will constitute a strong arguement in favour of the implementation of the methodology and tools developed. This will be evaluated through a dedicated monitoring protocol.

Financial assessment

After the constitution of an online database, data comparison of costs and benefits between pilots sites will focus on specific costs: transport, electricity, fuel, environmental licence/ penalties, GHG emission, production, product failure, resource acquisition… In parallel, data comparisons of costs and benefits for each pilot site before and after the demonstration activities will help to evaluate the impact of the project on the financial viability, transport costs, electricity costs, fuel costs, environmental licence/ penalties costs, GHG emission costs, production costs, product failure costs, ressource acquisition costs…

Using the expertise of researchers in economics, an assessment and an analysis of data will identify the most cost-efficient scenario and lead to the publication of an anonymous case study.

Socio-economical assessment

In consultation with the relevant stakeholders (local authorities, economists, sociologists, citizens, representations of wine-professionals at local scale…), the online database relating to the pilot sites will be subject of a confidentiality agreement, insuring the confidentiality of socio-economical information. Specific surveys, the data comparison between pilot sites and the data comparison of costs and benefits for each pilot site, before and after demonstration activities, will be conducted. At the end of the project, using the expertise of researchers in sociology, an assessment and an analysis of data will validate the best scenario. This analysis will lead to the publication of an anonymous case study on the project website.
